Lincoln City chairman Steff Wright has pledged to back manager Peter Jackson with a budget good enough to challenge for promotion next season.
The Red Imps have released six players - including goalkeeper Alan Marriott and striker Mark Stallard - this week and Wright insists there will be sufficient funds available for the manager to strengthen his squad.
"The budget is of a similar basis to that of last season despite the drop in average attendance" he said.
"But I firmly believe that it is good enough for Peter to compete for a position in the top three next season.
"It will enable us to be competitive when it comes to signing players that Peter wants to attract to the club."
