Former Port Vale manager Martin Foyle is keen to become Lincoln City's new boss.
Foyle left Vale Park earlier this month but believes he has the ideal qualities to take on the managerial role at Sincil Bank.
He watched the Red Imps' 1-1 draw with Peterborough United on Saturday but told the Lincolnshire Echo: "People saw me at the game and got the wrong idea a bit.
"I was there doing some scouting for Darlington but, yes, I have applied for the Lincoln job.
"It's a good little club with lots of potential. I was very impressed with them on Saturday and thought they deserved to beat Peterborough.
"I've made my interest clear. It's just a case of seeing if they get back to me. I'm keen to get back into management - I feel I've got something to offer."
