We deserved more - Pearce

Assistant manager Ian Pearce felt Lincoln deserved more from their clash with Stevenage as they fell to a 1-0 defeat. Chris Holroyd's 40th-minute strike proved the difference between the two sides as Borough triumphed in a hotly-contested encounter at Sincil Bank. "I thought we deserved to get a result," said Pearce. "We didn't deserve to lose. It was very frustrating. The players gave everything. We asked for a reaction after the performance at Accrington and we got it. "We showed plenty of aggression. We got in their faces right from the start. The only disappointment was the result. Stevenage had only one chance, maybe two, from the game but they scored and we didn't. "It just didn't go our way. We're not getting the breaks at the moment. We created chances but we didn't put them away. We have been working hard in training and we tried to be positive but it wasn't through lack of effort that we lost. "We've got to start taking our chances. We need one to go in off someone's backside or something like that to change our luck. We should have got something out of the game. Even when we were 1-0 down we kept on going. We just didn't get a break. "
