Lincoln have appointed Steve Tilson as their new manager. The 44-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract at Sincil Bank and will be assisted by Paul Brush, who was his number two during their time at Southend which came to an end in July. Tilson takes over from former England striker Chris Sutton, who resigned on September 29 for personal reasons. Scott Lindsey will stay in caretaker charge for Saturday`s npower League Two trip to Shrewsbury with Tilson officially beginning his duties on Monday. Tilson, who was the fifth longest-serving manager in English football before leaving Southend, beat off competition from Dave Penney, Steve Thompson and Mick Harford to land the post.
