Tilson - Imps Looking At More Cuts

24 May 2011 07:40
Lincoln City will need to lose more than 5 staff to steady the ship as the manager realises.   Steve Tilson, the southern based ex Southend United manager is currently bemoaning his lot at our helm.  He has also just signalled that there are more cuts on the way at Lincoln City beyond that of Scott Lindsey's axing. Good move when season ticket sales can help us out of a cashflow hole and boost your budget Tilly?   So what gives on a cheeky cockney cherub Tuesday? Well poor Tilson and Brush will miss Scott Lindsey the coach we had to let go. Although Tilson rates his ex mate the players looked like strangers on a Saturday suggesting he will not be missed at training as much as 3 times the charm Tilson suggests.   Uncle Bob could pull a masterstroke here you feel. Let Grant Brown and Moyses get amongst them LCM says.  The Imps face £500,000 a season in lost revenue on top of a huge loss for last season of possibly the same amount. Remember that is on top of the previous years whopper. Incredibly If the Imps cut the off field wage costs this would be acomplished raising the budget by almost 50% - yes staggering is it not?   Tilson told BBC Lincolnshire: "I've known Scott for some time. He's good at what he does but for financial reasons the club have had to let him go. "He's a good coach, he's got bags of enthusiasm and he's someone I'd love to have kept so it's disappointing." Lindsey was brought to Sincil Bank by former boss Chris Sutton and, after a spell as caretaker manager following Sutton's resignation, was kept on by Tilson, who was a team-mate of Lindsey's at non-league Canvey Island.   He added: "But for the financial situation, Scott would still be here with us, but alongside him there are a few others who might lose their jobs."
