The Form Of The Foe Cheltenham

24 April 2011 12:23
The prematch feature on Cheltenham our forthcoming foe.   Cheltenham will be no pushovers, they are rarely hammered and come to us determined to finally end a slide that started when they played us in January and continued with Macclesfield yesterday. The Robins keep things tight and have won 8 and lost 8 by a single goal margin and won 3 and lost 6 by 2 goals; but this is one we know we can and must win.   Put shackles on Thomas and Goulding, which Green and Hone can do and let Howell and Kilby deal with Joshu Lowe and Frankie Artus and we will. That said, like ourselves, the form of our foe is better away than at home.   The Robins have drawn one and lost 5 of their last 6 games since beating Bury 3-2 away. Indeed they have only won one (Stockport 2-1) of the preceeding ten (4 draws & 5 defeats) since the Imps ended a hot streak on 25th January that actually had Robins fans tweeting about the playoffs.  Let's take a statistical look at the form of the foe.   Home Record 21st positionP 22 W 6 D 6 L 10 F 24 A 31 GD -2 PTS 24Away Record 15th positionP 21 W 6 D 6 L 9 F 29 A 44 GD -15 PTS 24Overall Position 18th in League 2P 43 W 12 D 12 L 19 F 53 A 75 GD -22 PTS 48 Seasonal Highs & LowsBiggest Home Win 4-0 Bradford City Biggest Away Win Aldershot Town 0-2, Accrington Stanley 2-4, Macclesfield Town 0-2 Heaviest Home Defeat 0-3 Hereford United, 0-3 Chesterfield Heaviest Away Defeat Crewe Alexandra 1-8 Highest  Score Rotherham United 6-4 Ker-ching  Highest Gate  4349 Oxford United Lowest Gate   2191 Stockport County Average Attendance 2920 Total Turnstile Clicks 64257 Heroes & VillainsGoal makers19 Wesley Thomas  10 Jeff Goulding 6 Joshua Low 3 Brian Smikle, Frankie Artus, Danny Andrew   Assists6 Brian Smikle, Danny Andrew 5 Jeff Goulding, Joshua Low,  4 Keith Lowe 4 3 Wesley Thomas Keeper Corner  Scott P BrownGames 48 Saves 233 Clean sheets 7Card Collectors  yellows - 41  6 Danny Andrews, Michael Pook 4 Jeff Goulding, Wesley Thomas  Reds -1  1 Andy Gallinagh
