The Form Of The Foe - Aldershot

07 May 2011 08:44
Here is the weekly look at the opposition Aldershot’s form over the last 5 games suggests the Imps will get at least the draw, but it is the win we need, to guarantee our survival, should Barnet win.  Clearly Dean Holdsworth is up for doing his Wimbledon buddy Sanchez a favour.     After winning 4 and drawing 4 in an unbeaten previous 8 the wheels have come off Dean Holdsworth’s cart so to speak. With just one win, 3 draws and 2 losses in their last 6 against lowly opposition they have finished in mid table after flirting with the playoffs.   That is not to say we should take them lightly, our own form is hardly the best after all.  Aldershot are a danger all over the pitch with Luke Guttridge, Anthony Charles, Peter Vincenti as high in the scoring charts as  Hylton and Small who does not play today. Jermaine McGlashan and John Halls are a tough midfield central combo with  McGlashan setting up just as many as the two live wire widemen Vincenti & Gutteridge.   Indeed the Shots 4-4-2 formation owes much to the competitive Wimbledon spirit with everyone pitching in.  An impressive 76 yellows but just the 4 reds shows they are up for the Battle of the Bank today. Without further ado her we go, this weeks statistical,,,,,,   Form of the foe.    Last 3 Matches30/4 Rotherham (H) D 2-2 L2 25/4 Bradford (A) L 1-2 L2 23/4 Burton Albio (H) L 1-2 L2Last 6 Matches - D-L-L-D-W-D Home record 17thG 23 W 8 D 8  L 7 F 26 A 24 GD 0 PTS 32Away Record 12thG 22 W 5 D 11 L 6 F 25 A 28 GD -3 PTS 26Overall Position 14thG 45 W 13 D 19 L 13 F 51 A 54 GD -3 PTS 58Seasonal Highs & LowsBiggest Home Win 3-0 Shrewsbury Town Biggest Away Win Torquay United 0-1, Oxford United 0-1, Burton Albion 1-2, Barnet 1-2, Cheltenham Town 1-2 Heaviest Home Defeat 0-2 Cheltenham Town, 1-3 Bury, 0-2 Chesterfield Heaviest Away Defeat Crewe Alexandra 3-1, Macclesfield Town 2-0 Highest Score 3-2 Crewe Alexandra  Ker-ching  Highest Gate 3722 Wycombe Wanderers Lowest Gate 1847 Lincoln City Average Attendance 2487 Total Turnstile Clicks 57215Heroes & VillainsThe following stats are derived from League 2, FA Cup, Carling Cup and JPT.Goal Machines - Top scorers7 Wade Small.6 Luke Guttridge, Anthony Charles, Peter Vincenti5 Marvin Morgan, Alex Rodman, Daniel Hylton, Damian SpencerCreative influences - Assists4 Marvin Morgan, Anthony Straker, Jermaine McGlashan2 Luke Guttridge, Alex Rodman, Daniel HyltonKeeper CornerGames 51 Saves 193 Clean sheets 13Card CollectorsReds - 4 in all Comps2 Jamie Vincent1 Darren Jones, Marvin MorganYellows - 76 in all Comps 10 Daniel Hylton9 Anthony Charles7 Ben Herd6 Anthony Straker5 Jamie Vincent4 Jermaine McGlashan, Luke Guttridge, John Halls
