Sutton realistic over targets

Manager Chris Sutton insists Lincoln must concentrate on developing a striker rather than signing the finished article. Sutton`s eight summer signings have not included a prolific goalscorer, prompting some fans to question where the goals are going to come from this season. "We need to get away from this issue of needing a 20-goal-a-season striker - everybody in football does," said Sutton. "If you look at Davide Somma's record before he came to us on loan last season it wasn't particularly fantastic. But he came here, scored goals and had a capacity to learn. That's what we have to do at this level. "We would love to sign a [Wayne] Rooney and a [Didier] Drogba but their wage demands are a bit too much! We have to be realistic about the players we can attract to the club. "With the (financial) restrictions we have, we are working as hard as possible."
