Sutton: No Kerr appeal

Lincoln boss Chris Sutton has ruled out an appeal against Scott Kerr's red card at Accrington despite insisting the skipper suffered a miscarriage of justice. The midfielder was shown a straight red card for a late tackle on Craig Turner but having spent the weekend reviewing video footage of the incident, Sutton has decided against trying to get the decision rescinded, saying previous similar cases have gone against teams already this season. The risk of having the three-match ban extended and the cost of launching an appeal also outweighs the the pro's of an appeal. He told the Lincolnshire Echo: "I feel for Scott because he is not a dirty player by any stretch of the imagination. Committed, yes, but dirty he certainly is not. As I said on Friday night, he caught the boy on the foot and those tackles do happen in football. He did not catch him any higher and having had time to reflect, I still don't believe it warranted a red card. "But having thought long and hard about it, we will not be appealing because I just don't believe, given past cases, that we would have much chance of success. "If you look at decisions already this season, such as the red card Gary Cahill received against Arsenal, then I think it would be unlikely."
