Sunderland Clever Trevorr Carson: Take A Bow Bonnie Lad

Another stunning overall display from the Imps new No1 On loan Sunderland Keeper Carson is certainly a lucky black cat for the up and coming Imps. Clever Trevor Carson kept us in the game against Chesterfield more than making up for his 12th minute gaff. He also starred in the games against Hereford Utd (9 stops) Morecambe (7 stops) and Cheltenham (7 stops). His clean sheets against Port Vale,  Hereford and Morecambe  have also been a contributing factor in the Imps rise from 24th ti 15th in League 2. Carson is an inspirational sub captain to the team marshalling his back four superbly. There is nothing quite like a bloke throwing his body in front of a ball travelling at over 40 miles an hour to focus the minds of your peers. But then leading by example is what kept us in the game on Saturday. Five minutes after gifting them the first he kept us in the game with a fabulous penalty save to his left. Then we had that incredible diving save to his left from Davies downward dead cert header. Trevor has been fantastic in his first 9 games for the Imps making 40 saves, just 29 less than out of favour Anyons (21 games 69 saves 4 clean sheets) managed over a rather unforgettable League season between the sticks.  Not only is Trevor a great keeper but he showed just the sort of strength of character we need at our football club in the future. Accepted he wont be here forever but it is believed Steve Tilson and Paul Brush already have a short list of keepers ready to speak to in the summer when Carson makes a move to a top Championship club at the very least judging by his undeniable ability.   Carson's Imps Stats 2010 - 11 Competition Apps(as sub) Goals YellowCards RedCards League 8  (0) 0 0 0  Mins on Pitch 810 Saves 40 Clean Sheets 3 Cards 0
