Stanley earn Imps point

In-form Accrington earned a hard-fought point with a goalless draw against improving Lincoln. The home side created the first chance of the game when Ashley Grimes` ninth-minute shot was held by Accrington goalkeeper Alex Cisak. Lincoln keeper Trevor Carson was called into action a minute later tipping over a dipping shot from Stanley striker Terry Gornell. Cisak made two full-length saves to deny Lincoln wingers Mustapha Carayol and Gavin McCallum, but it was Accrington who wasted the best two chances of the half before the break, with Jimmy Ryan failing to connect from 12 yards out and then Charlie Barnett blazing over the bar when unmarked on the penalty spot. Substitute Sean McConville wasted another good chance for the visitors when he was put clear six minutes after half time. Accrington midfielder Ian Craney went close with a better effort from 25 yards out. Cisak comfortably held a Danny Hone header and a free kick from Lincoln substitute Ben Hutchinson, but it was McConville who came closest to getting the winner with a long-range shot that flew inches wide of Carson's right-hand post.
