The 28-year-old front-man was released a fortnight ago and boss Keith Alexander was quick to snap him up and bolster his attacking options ahead of next season. Wright, who has penned a contract until 2010 at Moss Rose, is Alexander's first summer signing and will join up with the Silkmen when they return for pre-season training on July 1. "I'd been looking at Ben whilst he was at Lincoln and I'm pleased to have been able to bring him here to Macclesfield," Alexander told the club's official website. "He's a big strong lad and is capable of holding the ball up, which is something you need in this division. He's the sort of player who will put defences under pressure and will lead the line for you. "He's also capable of getting 15 goals a season as well as bringing other attackers into play and creating chances."
