Bury showed their promotion credentials with a classy performance to end Lincoln's three match winning run with an emphatic 5-0 win at Sincil Bank. The visitors were gifted a perfect start when Lincoln goalkeeper Joe Anyon let a harmless looking shot from Andy Haworth slip through his legs in the 13th minute. Winger Mustapha Carayol nearly drew Lincoln level with a powerful header that came back off the crossbar a minute later. But the game was put out of Lincoln's reach when Bury struck twice in three minutes. Nicky Ajose got the first, following in a Ryan Lowe shot in the 21st minute after a good save from Anyon. The excellent Lowe was not however to be denied two minutes later with a classy finish that gave Anyon no chance. On-loan Celtic striker Ben Hutchinson went close for Lincoln after the break, but Bury weathered the storm and showed their supremacy when Ajose rifled home his second in the 71st minute. Lowe rounded off an excellent night for Bury with his second deep into injury time with a finish from 12 yards.
