Ward called off the game just over an hour before kick-off due to concerns over a frozen section of the pitch at Sincil Bank.[LNB]He later told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "There were areas which were still frozen and although the club had heaters on it, it hadn't thawed enough.[LNB]"It was a relatively small area and although both managers wanted the game to go ahead, my priority had to be the players' safety.[LNB]"Based on the weather forecast I could not have made an earlier decision to prevent Darlington travelling."[LNB]Lincoln manager Peter Jackson added: "It's frustrating. We wanted the game to go ahead so I'm disappointed and I'm sure Dave (Penney, the Darlington manager) is as well."[LNB][LNB]
