Pearce - We were unlucky

Lincoln assistant manager Ian Pearce insisted his side were unfortunate to finish on the wrong end of a 2-0 scoreline against Torquay. A brace from Elliot Benyon gave the Gulls the points as they extended their club-record run without conceding a goal to 871 minutes. "In the first half we were on top whatever anybody says and we were creating chances," said Pearce. "Torquay had one free-kick and scored from it. After that we were on the back foot and chasing the game but that's football. "We were aware of the danger from set pieces and we need to work a bit harder on the defensive side of things and tighten up. "Things will change for us. We just need to get a goal even if it's a deflection in off someone's backside. "We've got to keep creating chances and eventually one will go in."
