Pearce in squad for Sutton's debut

The former Norwich, Blackburn, Chelsea and Celtic striker has taken his first managerial post, becoming Peter Jackson's permanent successor following the Yorkshireman's dismissal at the start of September. He has a tough task ahead of him with City on a four-match losing streak following Simon Clark's spell as caretaker boss. However, Sutton is able to add one new player to his ranks in the shape of his assistant, former Blackburn defender Ian Pearce, who has also signed a playing contract. It remains to be seen if Sutton, who officially began his new role on Wednesday, will make any changes to the side. Defenders Paul Green (hip) and Joe Heath (hernia) and striker Paul Connor (knee) remain absent.
