Pearce demands defensive improvement

Assistant manager Ian Pearce insists Lincoln must improve defensively - and quickly. The Imps have conceded eight goals in three matches already this season, including a 4-0 drubbing at Leeds in the Carling Cup. Pearce said: "We cannot go on conceding goals, especially from set-pieces. We need to tighten up and it is not as if we are not practising it. "We are fully aware of the standards and what is expected but unfortunately we are not achieving it at the moment. "Ultimately it is an element that has to be erased from our game, otherwise we will end up chasing every game we play. "At least we have the players who can hurt defences, so it is going to take more hard work on the defensive side to put it right."
