Pearce back for Imps

Player-coach Ian Pearce could return to the Lincoln squad for the visit of Torquay. The experienced defender missed the midweek Carling Cup defeat to Leeds after he suffered an ankle injury at Rotherham on the opening day of the League Two campaign. Pearce is likely to be on the bench if he recovers sufficiently to be included in the squad. Adam Watts came through Tuesday night`s game at Elland Road unscathed after an ankle injury made him a doubt for the first-round tie so the centre-half should keep his place in the team. Boss Chris Sutton reported a few `minor knocks` following the Leeds game but insists he has no new problems. Mustapha Carayol could face his former club, with a Football League tribunal set to convene next week to set a compensation fee for the winger following his summer switch.
