N'Guessan fulfills Jackson's dream

N'Guessan scored his eighth goal of the season as the Imps edged closer to the play-off places with a 1-0 win, with Jackson quick to hail his in-form winger.

He said: "I just thought this pitch would be ideal for Dany. It's one of the biggest in the league and I just told the rest of the players to give him as much of the ball as possible.

"He's so quick and skilful that he was bound to cause problems out there. I'm delighted to say he didn't disappoint me.

"But I was pleased with all the lads because it was a good all-round performance and a clean sheet. We haven't had many of those lately.

"I thought we were very comfortable at half-time and I was just urging us to get that second goal to kill the game off.

"When it didn't come there was always the danger of Vale snatching an equaliser and that nearly happened at the end. Robert Burch had to make two good saves."
