Losing start for Imps boss

Shrewsbury sealed a first win in six games with a 2-0 victory as Lincoln failed to build on a bright start in front of their new manager Steve Tilson. Lincoln called the tune for much of the opening half-hour, Josh O'Keefe heading their best chance against a post, before Shrewsbury scored twice inside three minutes to take command. Winger Mark Wright fired the home side into a 38th-minute lead, cracking a 15-yard shot into the bottom corner of the net after the Imps failed to clear a David Raven cross. It quickly got even better for Shrewsbury as they conjured up a quality second. Lionel Ainsworth delivered a delightful raking crossfield pass to top scorer Jake Robinson who cut in from the left before drilling in his ninth goal of the season, beating Imps keeper Joe Anyon at his near post. Lincoln enjoyed plenty of possession in the second half, with wingers Mustapha Carayol and Albert Jarrett both lively, but found chances hard to come by with Shrewsbury, who remain unbeaten at home this season, close to grabbing a third goal when Wright clipped a shot against the crossbar.
