Lincoln to recall rested players against Ipswich

A handful of players are expected to return to the Lincoln starting line-up for the FA Cup replay against Ipswich.

Captain Luke Waterfall, Bradley Wood, Alex Woodyard, Nathan Arnold, Matt Rhead and Theo Robinson, who scored the Imps' goals in the 2-2 draw at Portman Road, were all rested on Saturday at Gateshead in the FA Trophy with centre-half Waterfall, winger Arnold and striker Robinson not even in the squad.

New signing Joe Ward made his debut in that win but the on-loan Brighton winger is ineligible for this game having joined the Conference leaders after the initial tie on January 7.

Should Lincoln progress they will host Ward's parent club in the fourth round at the end of the month.

Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy is expected to again rotate his squad, so veteran goalkeeper Dean Gerken should come into the side.

On-loan Leicester forward Tom Lawrence could retain his place following another brace in Saturday's Championship win over Blackburn to add to his FA Cup double against the Imps, but new signing Kieffer Moore is not eligible for the replay having not been in the squad for the first tie.

Defender Myles Kenlock (calf) remains sidelined, while strikers David McGoldrick (hamstring) and Brett Pitman (calf), midfielder Luke Hyam (knee) and defenders Tommy Smith (back), Teddy Bishop (ankle) and Paul Digby (knee) also continue their rehabilitations.

On-loan Crystal Palace midfielder Jonny Williams (shoulder) and Giles Coke (knee) are still out.
