Lincoln appointment just days away
The Imps have drawn up a shortlist of "three or four" candidates according to vice-chairman Bob Dorrian, who is leading the hunt to find Peter Jackson's successor.
Dorrian confirmed the club's next appointment would be a young manager and stated the process should be wrapped up before the eagerly anticipated home clash against Notts County on September 29.
"The initial interviewing process is finished and we have a shortlist of around three or four people who we will be interviewing this week, with a view to making an announcement within the week," Dorrian told the Lincolnshire Echo. "Overall, the calibre of applicants this time round, as opposed to when we appointed Peter Jackson, has been a lot better.
"You have to bear in mind that there are a lot of high-profile managers who are out of work at the moment, good-quality people trying to get back into the game.
"We are after a young manager, someone with a point to prove. What we'll be looking for during the interview process is someone who shows an overwhelming desire to succeed."
