Last-gasp Wedgbury denied Lincoln

Macclesfield midfielder Sam Wedgbury scored his first goal of the season to rescue a precious point deep in stoppage time in a 1-1 draw with 10-man Lincoln. The Imps took the lead in the 19th minute when Stephen Hunt curled a speculative 22-yard drive over the fingertips of Town goalkeeper Jose Veiga and in off the crossbar. Macclesfield then dominated proceedings, but found in Lincoln goalkeeper Trevor Carson an immoveable object. In the 61st minute Carson brilliantly clawed wide a Hanza Bencherif drive before seeing Tyrone Barnett flick inches wide. Barnett then had a close range header cleared off the goalline by Julian Kelly. Lincoln's Ben Hutchinson was sent off in the 64th minute for his second bookable offence when he petulantly kicked the ball away after he had been shown a yellow card for a first-half foul. Macclesfield got little change out of a tight Lincoln back four, but in the second minute of stoppage time Wedgbury drilled a 22-yard volley through a crowd of players and into the far corner.
