Landmark for Sutton as Lincoln draw

Lincoln manager Chris Sutton celebrated his first year in charge with a crucial point from a 0-0 draw against mid-table Burton. The stalemate eased pressure on the former Chelsea and Celtic striker after two consecutive defeats had left the Imps struggling at the wrong end of League Two. Burton's best chance fell to Russ Penn after just four minutes but his lob dropped over the crossbar with Lincoln goalkeeper Joe Anyon stranded off his line. Anyon's goal was threatened again after 17 minutes when a powerful drive from John McGrath flew inches wide. But Lincoln gradually came back into the game, with both on-loan Celtic forward Ben Hutchinson and winger Albert Jarrett going close before the break. Lincoln continued to improve in the second half and were unlucky not to take the lead when a Josh O'Keefe shot was palmed away by Burton goalkeeper Adam Legzdins. Legzdins made another fingertip save to keep out a deflected effort from Hutchinson. But Lincoln were nearly punished when Jacques Maghoma blazed over the bar five minutes from time.
