Jarrett earns point for Imps

A fine individual goal from summer signing Albert Jarrett earned Lincoln their first home point of the season as they drew 1-1 with Crewe. Jarrett robbed Alex skipper Ashley Westwood before advancing forward and firing a low, left-footed shot into the bottom corner. The 40th-minute equaliser came from Lincoln's first shot of the game and proved a turning point. The Red Imps, who had struggled to make an impact on the game until that moment, then began to create chances and Ben Hutchinson was unlucky with a close-range header which came back off the bar. Crewe had looked comfortable in the early stages and edged ahead in the 23rd minute when Shaun Miller netted from close in after Lincoln keeper Joe Anyon was unable to hold a shot from Westwood. Lincoln went close to a winner in the second half when veteran Jamie Clapham saw his header cleared off the line. The visitors had chances of their own late on with sub Calvin Zola sending a header against the post. Anyon also made several good saves and in the dying seconds a goal-bound shot from Westwood was blocked on the line by Joe Anderson.
