The striker marked his full league debut against Brentford at the back end of last season and looked set for a great campaign after a promising pre-season. But King failed to make an impact in the opening day defeat to Rotherham and has not featured since the 1-0 loss to Wycombe back in August. The Imps forward then spent time on loan at non-league Boston before marking his return with a surprise substitute appearance in Tuesday's 1-0 loss to Darlington. King told the Lincolnshire Echo: "It's a major step up, probably a bigger step up than I thought it was going to be. "I wasn't strong enough and lacked experience.
