Imps turn to Lindsey

Managerless Lincoln have appointed Scott Lindsey as their new caretaker boss while they search for a replacement for Chris Sutton. Former England striker Sutton stunned the League Two club when he resigned on Wednesday morning, with his assistant Ian Pearce also following out of the exit door. Lindsey, who Sutton appointed as first-team coach, will be assisted by goalkeeping coach Paul Musselwhite. The duo's duties will start with Saturday's clash with Southend, and Lindsey said: "Chris and Ian have moved on and it's up to me now to get the players organised and make sure they are fully concentrated on the job in hand. "Ultimately we've got football matches to win and points to gain. I am an upbeat and positive person and I want the players to be too. I want them to enjoy playing for Lincoln City. "But we've got to move quickly, starting on Saturday at Southend."
