Howe, who scored 12 goals in 41 games while on loan at Morecambe last season, had been a transfer target for the Imps. But manager Peter Jackson has turned his attentions elsewhere, and told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "We showed interest in him but he wanted a bit longer. "We can't wait forever. We are in a situation where we need to move on and look to bring other people in." Meanwhile, Jackson has invited Paul Connor to train with the club. The former Cheltenham striker, 30, could be involved in Lincoln's pre-season friendly against Hungarian side Ferencvaros at Sincil Bank on Wednesday night.
