Hungry Horsfield ready to return

The veteran forward is fit again following calf and hamstring injuries, but has seen his first-team opportunities limited due to the performances of Ben Wright and Anthony Elding. However, with Elding now facing a three-match ban following his sending off in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Bury, Horsfield is likely to return to the Imps' starting line-up for Tuesday's home game against Darlington. He told the club's official website: "It's always hard [being injured] as the only thing I've ever wanted to do is play football, I hate being injured, the physio will tell you that. "I'm fit, it was just unfortunate with the pitches here because we had a lot of rain and snow and it was really boggy. I'd got a little calf strain and came back from that and fortunately we had a few games called off so I didn't miss too many. "I returned to training and slipped on the turf which pulled my hamstring a little bit, that was unfortunate, but I'm fighting fit and am now raring to go."
