Horsfield sad to leave Lincoln

The forward was one of eight players released by Peter Jackson last week after scoring just one goal for the Imps after resuming his career following a successful battle against cancer. But rather than being bitter about his exit, the former Fulham man is grateful to Jackson for restarting his career. "Of course I'm sad to be leaving because it's a smashing club and everybody was good to me during my time there," he told the Lincolnshire Echo. "The gaffer gave me a chance to play again after my problems with illness and for that I'll always be thankful. "But, ultimately, the problem was that having missed out on pre-season, I was always fighting to maintain my fitness."
