Hamstrung Howe heads back to Posh

The 23-year-old, who was signed by former City boss Peter Jackson at the start of the season, was set to remain with the League Two club until January.[LNB]However, he has been struggling with injury recently and with new manager Chris Sutton bringing in Delroy Facey on loan from Notts County last week, Howe's substitute appearance in Saturday's FA Cup second-round win at Northwich Victoria was his last for the Imps.[LNB]"I would like to thank Rene for his efforts during his time at the club and can confirm that as I have got plenty of options up front, he won't be returning when his loan comes to a close," Sutton told City's official website.[LNB]Howe scored five goals in 21 league and cup appearances for Lincoln.[LNB][LNB]
