Gulls want Carayol fee
Torquay manager Paul Buckle has insisted that the club will hold out for a transfer fee for winger Mustapha Carayol.
Carayol rejected a new contract at Plainmoor to join League Two rivals Lincoln on a Bosman-style transfer earlier this summer, but because the player is under the age of 24 the Imps would usually be liable to pay a compensation fee to United.
However, the Sincil Bank side believe that this ruling does not apply as Carayol did not come through the Gulls youth system nor did they pay any money to MK Dons to sign him.
If no agreement can be made between the two clubs the matter will be held before a Football League tribunal.
Buckle told the Herald Express: "We are waiting for a date for a transfer tribunal. That's unless Lincoln turn round and actually offer us some money, more than a sell-on.
"They've got a first-team player from us for nothing at the moment. We'll go to a tribunal if we have to, and that's what we're planning for. We think we have a good case."
