Burch expecting promotion push

Peter Jackson's side were one of a number of clubs that surprisingly failed to mount a promotion challenge in the recent League Two campaign and must now lick their wounds and wait until August to put things right. But goalkeeper Burch, who was one of the Imps' better performers, is confident that next season will be a good one at Sincil Bank. "It was there for anyone to take last season," he said. "There was not a stand out team like the MK Dons or Peterborough in the season before. Bradford were expected to do it and didn't and it was there for anyone, which is why Exeter went up and Dagenham came so close. "I was disappointed we didn't do better but the chance will be there next year. We're financially strong, we have a young side and in the last weeks of the season we kept a few clean sheets. "We came close, then had to settle for mid-table. We drew a lot of games and we know we can improve."
