The Vics had looked right in the game when Matt Bailey cancelled out Lincoln forward Chris Fagan's first-half volley but former Blackburn youngster Clarke's double intervention settled it.

Sutton said: "It was really bad for us to concede the goal after the break and I was disappointed with that.

"But they are a big side and so they were always going to be a threat from set-pieces and on the whole we coped well.

"We knew it wasn't going to be easy coming here and the lads matched them really well and we're delighted to be in the third round.

"It will be great financially for the club. Jamie (Clarke) has worked hard on his game and he knows he has a lot more hard work ahead of him but he always gets on the shoulder of the last defender and he took his chances well."
