Anyon receives plaudits from both dugouts

Lincoln assistant manager Ian Pearce felt his side deserved their slender 1-0 win over Barnet despite being indebted to goalkeeper Joe Anyon for a string of superb saves. The Imps grabbed their first home win of the season courtesy of Ben Hutchinson`s penalty after 16 minutes when Bees defender Joe Devera fouled Drewe Broughton inside the area. But Lincoln failed to build on their advantage and Barnet, who came more into the game, were denied time and time again by the superb form of Anyon who kept out Jordan Parkes, Mark Marshall, Steve Kabba and Phil Walsh. "The back four did very well," said Pearce. "The two centre-halves were nice and strong and the two full-backs performed well. Topping that off Joe Anyon was excellent. They stuck to their task and managed to survive. It's a clean sheet and we've got to build on it." He added: "We started off well in the first half and they came back into it in the second half. But overall I think we deserved to get the win. We needed to get the three points." Barnet manager Mark Stimson added: "We could quite easily have got four or five goals but we bumped into a keeper who was in terrific form. He pulled off some fantastic saves."
