Burton eased their relegation worries with a comfortable 3-1 win over Lincoln at the Pirelli Stadium. On-loan striker Sam Winnall scored twice and midfielder Aaron Webster chipped in with his 11th goal of the season. Burton dominated the first half after being gifted the lead in the 11th minute. Lincoln goalkeeper Trevor Carson and defender Danny Hone collided as they went for the ball on the edge of the area, leaving Winnall with the simple task of slotting into an unguarded net. The home side could have had more goals before the break but Webster had a header blocked on the line and was inches with a dipping shot from 20 yards, while Winnall was denied his second goal when his goalbound lob was headed onto his own crossbar by Adam Watts. Burton's second goal came three minutes after break when the unmarked Webster guided home John McGrath's cross from close range. Wolves youngster Winnall added his second from the penalty spot after Jacques Maghoma had been tripped in the 75th minute before Ashley Grimes curles home a consolation goal for the Imps in the 82nd minute.
