Talented Bastia winger Florian Thauvin signed for Lille on Tuesday and was immediately loaned back to to the Corsican outfit for the rest of the season, a source close to the player said.
The 20-year-old Thauvin, who had been linked with moves to English Premier League clubs Arsenal and Newcastle United, has scored three goals in 19 Ligue 1 games this season.
It is believed that Lille will pay 3.5 million euros (£3m, $4.7m) for France under-20 international Thauvin.
Bastia revealed last week that Thauvin had refused to sign an extension to his contract, which was due to expire in 2014, but insisted he would end the season at the club.
