Williams wields the axe

Leyton Orient manager Geraint Williams has released eight players as he looks to put his own stamp on the squad.

Alton Thelwell, Wayne Gray, Paul Terry, Brian Saah, Danny Granville, Bradley Gray, Aiden Palmer and Solomon Shields will not have their Brisbane Road contracts renewed.

In addition, loan signings Jimmy Smith, Jordan Spence, Neil Morgan and Simon Church have returned to their parent clubs.

Former Colchester United boss Williams has been in charge of the O's since February and successfully guided the club away from the relegation zone.

He has offered Scott McGleish, Sean Thornton, Andrew Cave-Brown and Loick Pires new contracts with the club.
