Smith joins up with Orient

Chelsea midfielder Jimmy Smith joined Leyton Orient on loan ahead of Monday's transfer deadline.

The 22-year-old has previously spent time on loan in the Championship with Norwich City, QPR and Sheffield Wednesday and is in line to make his debut in Saturday's trip to Tranmere.

"Jimmy is joining from Chelsea and he will be a good addition to the squad," manager Kevin Nugent told the club's official website.

"He has great ability and can play anywhere across the midfield, so his versatility will also prove to be an asset."
