Slade not dwelling on Orient record

Russell Slade wasted little time diverting his attention to the history books after his Leyton Orient side made it a club-record 14 games without defeat.Instead, Slade called upon the O`s to maintain their momentum as they moved within five points of the play-off places with a 1-0 win at Hartlepool. A single goal from Jimmy Smith proved enough for Orient, who have not lost since New Year's Day."I've no idea about records, I just want to keep the momentum going, I just want to keep going and see where we end up," said Slade.Reflecting on the victory, he added: "You have to look at both halves separately. We dominated the first half and played fluent football, they couldn't get near the ball. Second half we had to defend well and we did."It was a great goal, Jimmy (Smith) came back into the side and finished fantastically well. We should have had a penalty early on and that would have taken the pressure off. Fair play to Hartlepool, they bombed us second half. It's not all about passing and moving, sometimes it's about being resilient, tackling, closing down and throwing."Jimmy's goal came at a good time, but any time to score is good and gives you something to hang onto. We are always capable of scoring, but that's two away wins on the bounce now and I'm pleased with that."
