Cheltenham Town defender Dave Bird has pledged his future to the Robins after agreeing a new three-year contract.
The 22-year-old made 37 appearances for the League One club last term and will now remain at Whaddon Road until summer 2010.
"I'm delighted that David has agreed this new contract and for me it's as good as signing a new player," manager John Ward told the club's official website.
"We are signing a 22-year old player with over 100 first-team matches of experience and someone who cares deeply about Cheltenham Town.
"We have talked about signing players for now and signing players for the future, but David fits into both categories because he is only 22 and will continue to get better."
Meanwhile, Ward has revealed that negotiations with out of contract duo JJ Melligan and Craig Armstrong are ongoing.
