Parkin in short O's extension
13 Jan 2009 - 12:41:33
Leyton Orient have extended the loan of Luton Town striker Sam Parkin by 13 days.
Parkin has been with the O's since October on an emergency loan deal, which can last up to 93 days. The short extension will bring his loan period to that limit.
The 27-year-old now will be eligible to figure in fixtures against Sheffield United, Bristol Rovers and Southend United.
Orient boss Martin Ling completed the deal as any new signing would not be eligible for Tuesday's FA Cup replay with the Blades.
Ling said: "We've extended Sam's loan for another 13 days to take him up to the maximum 93-day period.
"Whoever we brought in wouldn't have been able to play in the FA Cup on Tuesday, so keeping Sam for that gives us more options and he'll also be available for Bristol Rovers and Southend.
"We'll make a decision then on where we're going to go."
