Parkin eyes festive pick-up

Leyton Orient striker Sam Parkin has called for a festive pick-up as the struggling O's look to pull away from the lower reaches of the League One table.

Parkin, 27, has revealed his frustration at losing 2-1 to Cheltenham Town last weekend and has called for an immediate improvement in results.

Martin Ling's side are currently languishing in 18th place in the table.

"It was a game we should have won but we didn't and it's important that we bounce back over the next couple of games," he told the club's official website.

"We can't get too disheartened because we've been on a good run and sometimes football has a habit of kicking you in the teeth like that.

"We could have given ourselves a little bit of breathing space over the teams at the bottom, but unfortunately it wasn't to be and we have to make up for that with a good points return over Christmas."
