    Orient secure striker signing

    24 Oct 2008 - 07:30:43

Leyton Orient have completed the signing of Luton Town striker Sam Parkin on loan until the turn of the year.

O's boss Martin Ling has been on the lookout for a new frontman for some time and has finally been able to make a signing.

He told the club's official site: "Sam's been out injured, but he's back fully fit now and will offer us something that we've been missing up front.

"He's six foot two and gives you a focus to your attack. He's got three goals for Luton this season and they've all been headers.

"Ever since the cruciate ligament injury to Wayne Gray we've been looking for a new striker and Sam fits the bill."

Parkin, 27, joined the Hatters in August 2006 from Ipswich Town, having previously made his name during a lengthy stint with Swindon Town.
