    O's opt to rest Mkandawire

    17 Apr 2008 - 11:11:14

Leyton Orient defender Tamika Mkandawire will miss the last three matches of the season in a bid to recover his form and fitness before the start of the 2008-09 campaign.

The former Hereford United star had surgery on a hernia problem in February, but has struggled to rediscover his early season consistency since returning to the first team last month.

"Tam hasn't felt right since his return to the team, and he will not be involved again this season," O's boss Martin Ling told the club's official website.

"Like Alton Thelwell, it's best for him to get fit now, and missing the last three games gives him more chance for rehabilitation on the injury before pre-season."
