Leyton Orient manager Martin Ling has not ruled out the prospect of Matt Lockwood returning to the club in the future.
The 31-year-old had spent almost a decade with the O's before moving to Nottingham Forest last summer, but has failed to settle at the City Ground making only ten appearances for Colin Calderwood's side.
Ling said: "I know a lot has been said about Matthew coming back here, but at the moment it's just pie in the sky stuff.
"Of course it hasn't gone as well as he'd have liked at Forest and he'd have been hugely disappointed not to have made their 16-man squad on Saturday - but he's on a good contract at Forest.
"That could improve further if they get up into the Championship, or he could even find himself playing for a new manager if they don't go up, so really it's all just ifs and buts.
"However, if we're still in with a shout of the play-offs, then there's every chance we may bring in another face just to freshen it up a bit going into the run-in."
