Butcher join O's as cover

Leyton Orient manager Geraint Williams has brought Tottenham goalkeeper Lee Butcher to Brisbane Road on a month's loan after Jamie Jones was knocked out in the opening stages of Saturday's home defeat to Colchester United.

The 21-year-old has spent the last two years at White Hart Lane but has failed to break into the first team although he has enjoyed loan spells with AFC Wimbledon, Margate, St Albans City and Grays Athletic.

Williams said of his latest capture: "Jamie Jones has had two bangs on the head recently and the doctor feels it's best if he rests up for a couple of weeks to be on the safe side, so we're delighted to offer Lee the chance to join us.

"We have close links with Tottenham and Harry Redknapp was happy for Lee to come here and he'll be looking to get on the bench or starting while Jamie is resting up."
