Chairboys start leaves Os standing
Wycombe withstood a spirited fightback from Leyton Orient to claim a 4-2 victory and climb off the bottom of the League One table.
Stuart Beavon's early goal sparked a fantastic first half for Wanderers, who demolished their opponents to go into half-time 4-0 ahead. Paul Hayes, Matt Bloomfield and Ben Strevens chipped in with the other goals.
But nerves inside Adams Park were sent jangling as Orient gained a second wind to pull two goals back through Matt Spring and Marc Laird.
Wycombe made the perfect start when Beavon's header from Danny Foster's cross went through the hands of debutant goalkeeper Paul Rachubka with just seven minutes on the clock.
The hosts extended their lead in the 26th minute when Craig Eastmond burst down the middle before playing it through to Hayes who passed the ball into the bottom corner.
Bloomfield then picked his way through before sliding in seven minutes later before his cut-back allowed Strevens to tap in from a few yards just before the break.
But Orient were a different side in the second half and they pulled two goals back, first through Spring's superb curler from 25 yards immediately after the restart and then through Laird's header in the 74th minute.
