Townsend's strike tames Lions

Orient's debutant midfielder Luke Summerfield had an 18th-minute shot diverted for a corner and the hosts missed furtehr chyances through JJ Melligan, Jason Demetriou and James Scowcroft. Millwall first threatened with striker Steve Morison's header drifting wide. Orient broke the deadlock when substitute Townsend gathered a Millwall clearance and found the bottom corner of the visitors' net from distance, two minutes of appearing off the bench. The nearest Millwall came to rescuing a point was when Orient goalkeeper Jamie Jones plunged at the feet of striker Neil Harris.
