Tansey's stunner shocks Orient

Defences were on top in a first half of few chances. Stockport forward Carl Baker - just days after the funeral of his brother Michael - saw an early shot deflected wide. The former Morecambe man was then denied by the woodwork after 13 minutes. Baker turned inside Charlie Daniels before seeing a low drive strike the base of a post. Tansey fired narrowly over for Stockport, then in first-half stoppage-time Liam Bridcutt's deflected shot was saved by Os goalkeeper Jamie Jones. Stockport broke the deadlock four minutes after the restart. On-loan Nicholas Bignall slotted home his first league goal for the Hatters following a slip by centre-back Mkandawire. Following Tansey's piledriver, Mkandawire pulled a goal back for Orient, but that was a mere consolation.
